About Us
The concept of Municipality 101 was born from a research project focused on the "After Arrival" phase of refugees in Luxembourg. As we explored the role of the National Office for Reception (ONA) in shaping both the physical and social landscapes for refugees, the idea for a "101 Municipality" emerged. This metaphor envisions the refugee reception centers as forming a new, dynamic municipality, with populations comparable to Luxembourg's existing 100 municipalities.
Municipality 101 aims to act as a 'liquid' entity, bridging gaps between policymakers, professionals, academics, and the refugees and migrants who are becoming part of the urban fabric. Our goal is to foster stronger connections, greater understanding, and a more inclusive dialogue, ensuring that these often-overlooked communities are recognized as an essential part of the evolving cityscape.
Through Municipality 101, we strive to create a space where the integration of refugees and migrants is not just a policy issue, but an opportunity for collaboration and mutual growth.
